Labor Day Curse

It seems we have inherited a Labor Day Curse from some where. Last year we were in Ilion, headed to Sacandaga Lake for Bryons Annual Labor Day Bash, when we got a phone call from our neighbor saying a tree had fallen on our house. AS it turns out the tree did not fall on our house , but it did take out the line that bring the electricity to our house. Resulting in the loss of anything and everything that was plugged into the wall. All I can say is thank goodness for homeowners insurance!! That was one huge bill they had to pay.

This year all was going well until we tried to pull into the access road that leads to Bryons beach for the party. As Mike started to make the left hand turn a car came over the blind hill/curve and t-boned us. We are all ok, but the other car was TOTALED. Appearently a Honda Civic is no match for a Chevy Avalanche. The other driver was taken away by ambulance with a broken femur, thumb and possibly a rib or two. His two other passengers had some nasty mark from the seat belts, but otherwise were ok. Both vehicles had to be towed and Mike is meeting with the claim adjuster tomorrow.

If anything happens next year, I think we will stop celebrating Labor Day!

Here are some pics from the party (after all the excitement).
